Transformers 2

Transformers – The beginning. This is a sequel to my earlier post in the link http://ayonsblog.blogspot.in/2013/06/transformers.html . Well Chaotica had a very major transformation in 3014. The Regress Fraternity that was ruling Chaotica for a long time was totally decimated. The Chaotica General Fraternity led by Mr. Moody took over the reins of power. The changeover became even more dramatic because of the emergence of Generalized Commoners Sodality which was led by an immensely transformed member of the human species by the name of Err-Whined Crazy-Wild. This human had become popular by very uncharacteristic methods. He has tutored by an aged warrior by the named of Anna Thousand-Array. Anna Thousand-Array by himself was a veteran champ of the game of Truth or Dare. He challenged every possible person seating in some position of power to a game of Truth or Dare. Whenever he faced opposition of any kind, he went in a state of dormant activity by stopping his food intake. Every

I feel so inferior these days.

Demonetization - It made me feel so poor, so inferior these days. I am a central government employee with my salary as the sole source of income. Every year I pay tax which pinches my pocket dearly, still I had a sense of satisfaction I was honestly paying more taxes than many of my more affluent friends who earn from other sources. They manipulate the records to pay much lower taxes than me. But damn Modi. My superiority complex is now threatened. Why on earth did he have to take such a drastic step? The status quo would have been better. We Indians are programmed for status quo. We resist changes and we love to see things stagnant. So, whenever there is a change of any sort we protest. We don’t want better emission norms because that would mean our old cars need to be changed. We don’t want changes in the education system, for those yellow notes that have been preserved over the ages will be trashed. And how can these be trashed, after all these are a part of our heritage. Actually

Do we always need to be politically correct?

As I was watching an advertisement of some car tyre, this thought crossed my mind – do we always need to be politically correct? In that commercial a kid writes about his day out in his Dad’s car where he goes for an adventure and meets a monster that smiles at him. So far the visuals are fine. But in the next visual the monster is shown as a dead branch of a tree. That makes me ponder, do we need to kill imagination of kids in order to be politically correct. I ask this question because when I was a child I used to listen to stories and fables. In those stories the animals, birds and trees used to speak, there were giants and elves and gnomes and fairies and blood thirsty monsters. In tales of mythology there were Rakshasas and Asuras. Even a few years back there was the Harry Potter series with wizards and witches. But then some voices could be heard, some religious leaders on one hand and rationalists on the other opposed these books, though their reasons and domains were absolu

Transformers

Transformers Wiki defines transformers thus: The Transformers are a species of sentient, living robotic beings (mostly) originating from the distant machine world of Cybertron. The stories of their lives, their histories, and most especially their wars have been chronicled across many different continuities in the vast multiverse. The designation "Transformer" stems from the species' generally-shared ability to transform, to change their bodies at will, rearranging their component parts from a robotic primary mode (usually, but not always, humanoid) into an alternate form; generally vehicles, weapons, machinery, or animals. In some continuities this ability to transform is innate to all members of the species, in others it was a wartime innovation that was adopted by most, but not all, of the populace. Hollywood came out with the movie ‘Transformer’ in the year 3007.  The movie was a smash hit among especially among the kids. Due to the success of this m

Secularism/Sickularism

Secularism/Sickularism George Holyoake coined the term secularism in an 1896 publication (Holyoake, George J. (1896). English Secularism. Chicago: The Open Court Publishing Company) where he defines secularism as: Secularism is a code of duty pertaining to this life, founded on considerations purely human, and intended mainly for those who find theology indefinite or inadequate, unreliable or unbelievable. Its essential principles are three:  (1) The improvement of this life by material means. (2) That science is the available Providence of man. (3) That it is good to do good. Whether there be other good or not, the good of the present life is good, and it is good to seek that good. With the Modi vs Nitish show down the question of secularism again has raised its ugly head. To begin with let us try to understand secularism in the Indian context as it does not in any way pertains to its original definition cited above. What does that mean to a common Indian like me?

The student community of NIT Silchar

The student community of NIT Silchar NIT Silchar is an institute of excellence in the north eastern part of India where we get students from all the different parts of India and some from abroad too. These students get admitted here after a rigorous elimination test called AIEEE. For the statistically interested people it is to be mentioned that out of about 1200000 candidates appearing for AIEEE only 18000 are selected. In terms of percentage this adds up to a success of 1.5%. Out of these lucky people who have been screened through AIEEE about 450 of them arrive at NIT Silchar. They initially turn up for the first time with their parents for the admission process and within fifteen days of arrival at NITS campus, a metamorphosis takes place to create a new breed of the ‘Youngisthan.’ This Youngisthan at NITS have some particular characteristics : • Everyone tries to portray himself/herself as a cool dude/gal. This coolness factor is also directly proportional to the usage of English
